HARBOR HIGH SCHOOL
COLLABORATION PROJECT
The Race Card Project, inspired by Michele Norris' Race Card Project encourages students to condense their observations and experiences about race into one sentence with just Six Words, "Race Cards can be thoughtful, funny, heartbreaking, brave, teeming with anger and shimmering with hope." Harbor High School's students created their own race cards, defining their experience of race in such a way as to foster a larger school-wide dialogue about the controversial topic of race. To accompany their six words, students authored paragraphs that share their experience of race and what race means to them, offering a wider window into the multifaceted experiences of race and ethnicity found throughout Harbor High School.
